Burberry is a British luxury fashion house founded in 1856 by Thomas Burberry in Basingstoke, England, and headquartered in London; the business is listed on the London Stock Exchange as Burberry Group plc. It is known for its gabardine trench coats, the Burberry Check pattern, cashmere scarves and leather accessories. Since February 2023 the brand has used a serif wordmark alongside the Equestrian Knight Design emblem, which dates from a public design competition held around 1901.
