Gap is an American casual clothing brand founded in San Francisco in 1969 by Don and Doris Fisher. Its first store on Ocean Avenue sold Levi's jeans and records, and the name refers to the generation gap. It is the namesake division of Gap Inc., alongside Banana Republic, Old Navy and Athleta, and is known for everyday basics such as logo hoodies and tees, denim and khakis for women, men, kids and babies.
