Hermès
Hermès is a French luxury house founded in Paris in 1837 by the harness maker Thierry Hermès. It grew from saddlery and harness-making into leather goods, silk scarves and ties, ready-to-wear, jewelry, watches and fragrance, and is known for handcrafted pieces such as its silk carrés and the Birkin, Kelly and Picotin bags. It remains an independent company controlled by the founder's descendants.
