Issey Miyake
Japanese fashion house founded in Tokyo in 1970 by designer Issey Miyake (1938-2022), who set up Miyake Design Studio that year; the operating company, now Issey Miyake Inc., followed in 1971. The label is known for technology-driven clothing, above all permanently heat-set pleated polyester (Pleats Please, whose pleating method Miyake patented in 1993, and the men's Homme Plissé), and for related lines such as Bao Bao geometric bags, A-POC and me ISSEY MIYAKE.
